Licensing

As explained on our copyright page, their is a difference between owning (the copyright) of an image and the right to use it.

Differences also exist between the requirement of personal and commercial clients:

A commercial client will always discuss with us the intended usage of an image e.g. the type of media in which it will be used (Web/Print etc), the time for the usage and the geographical regions for the usage.

A licence for use will then be granted and paid for by the client - this can of course be extended/amended in the future.

A personal client may be issued with a "personal use" licence by the photographer, this often happens if the photographer provide a disc of images as part of the package - this is not an assignment of the copyright. A personal licence is exactly that, it would not give you the right to place the images into the public domain e.g Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and other social networking/photo sharing media.

At Studio Ferguson our mantra is quality; we spend much time and effort ensuring that your images are perfect. We therefore wish to maintain an element of "quality control" over the output and display of those images. Many third party suppliers of print do not apply the standards that we would.

We are more than happy to grant licences for any usage that you may require.
